My energetic mentor Jagadamba Mataji who guided me in recording so many songs and passing moments, urged me to take this photo of her presiding over the midday rice meal in her kitchen, 1991. “Sing, dear sing (ga adiye ga),” she often coaxed singers. Both these recordings of the Loi’s song were made at her instruction.
